Does it really matter? Like a trex would think : "Okay, if I kick the compy with my left leg, it would bounce off that rock, and the trajectory would force that shrub to bend, and then if I bit the compy....." etc.

Yes it matters. Being smarter gives you many advantages as a hunter. Why did herbivores have smaller brains? Because they don't plan attacks...they eat shrubs and defend themselves. Predators have to be smarter to fight back against the defense of herbivores without hurting themselves...

;D Ok lets get a couple of things straight here. The smartest Dinosaur was Troodon followed by Deinonychus, Compsognathus, and then T-Rex. See 10 smartest dinosaurs. So Compsognathus was smarter then T-rex. Also two Compsognathus had small agile lizard specimens in their bellies. That means I eat little lizards for lunch. I'm too smart, fast and agile for you to do anything about it. Goodbye little lizards. A Ha Ha Ha. ;D

Well Tyrannosaurus had the largest brain of any dinosaur-not as large as troodon's compared to its body size, but he was unusually smart for his size. Most of his brain was devoted to eyesight and smell...

However, elephants are considered one of the smartest animals. I believe the brain of a blue-whale is as large as a 300 lb man....
