What do ya think? I'm talkin' about the newly discovered Eotriceratops Xerinsularis, whose skull was basically 3 meters long! Could have it really been a different genus or just (as i suspect) a bigass Triceratops Horridus, maybe an old individual who was lucky enough to get so big, despite all the predators which were roaming the land in the late Cretaceous?

This is still relatively new. They only have 1/3 of the Skull which is in 40 to 50 pieces. Right now they consider it an ancestor of Triceratops living 68 MYA. With such a scant fossil record its actual size in still in question although it is big(8-12meters).

I don't know how to post it exactly but just go to eotriceratops edmonton journel. It should be one of the top links something like www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/story. Hope you find it okay.

I haven't found the article... Anyway,if they say that is actually 68 Million Years Old,isn't it basically the same period in which Triceratops lived?

From what I remember reading Eotriceratops came slightly before Triceratops. But I also read that some Triceratops were like 68MYA. So I think its close. It might turn out to actually be a Triceratops! ;D

It may have also lived along side Trike, as Nanotyranno did with Big T.

When it comes to estimate the age of animals so ancient like our beloved dinosaurs, well, finding the RIGHT time period is kind of impossible. I'm not saying that i belive that Stegosaurus lived alongside with T.rex or something along these lines ;D But saying that something which has lived around 68 million years ago couldn't have been alive and kickin' even at 65 million years ago...Well,i don't really buy that So,yeah,i believe Eotrike was just a big Trike, like i think Charonosaurus was just an asian Parasaurolophus and Nano-T was just a young Rex (or Daspleto,or Alberto)

Sid- remember, 2 million years is a VERY long time. Humans have only been around 30,000 years or so, two million is a lot. I don't think it would be impossible for something to go extinct within 2 million years.

^ Humans have been around for 30,000 years, but close human ancestors have been around much longer....
