Here is a general profile of Basilosaurus. CT, I am posting this because a bit back you said that you couldn't remember what Basilosaurus was. Well, everyone has to start somewhere. www.bbc.co.uk/science/seamonsters/factfiles/basilosaurus.shtmlBecause it is primitive, we can see that its flippers are somewhat arm like. The images do Basilosaurus no justice in this profile. As I've said before, whales originated from four-legged mammals and are actually quite closely related to deer, and other hooved animals. Crazy? I think not. Also, at the top left of the profile it says when this animal was first discovered it was thought to be a giant sea moster....well isn't it a giant sea monster? So, all sea monsters have to have long necks and be covered with sales....phhh

Whales are also related to hippos. I know some stuff about mammals, but just.... The reptiles are WAY cooler ;D

I know. Because of the teeth, scientists thought it was a lizard.

When scientists discover the remains of Basilosaurus (King Lizard) they thought it was a giant reptile just look at the drawings at the early 1990s they thought Basilosaurus was very reptilian too.But how did they changed their mind and said it was a whale,I don't know but I'm guessing that their was something in the fossil evidence.
