Here it is,Cordylus in his "extremely nit-picking mode" ;D Bear in mind that such structures don't preserve properly due to the fossilization...What was once sharp has probably been "eroded" as million of years passed Plus paleontologists FOUND evidence of a pyramidal keratinous "ridge" connecting the postorbital and lacrimal bones of at least one specimen of T.rex... So now the excuse is that they have been eroded away? Then why have the lacrimal horns of the allosaurus specimens stayed preserved, but not the trex? This is really amusing lol. And that would have not formed anything more than a little "bump" not those pyramids built by pharaohs! ;D And if they were something like a rhino horn, they still would have fossilized. Keratin isn't exactly "soft tissue".

As i said, they FOUND those keratinous "ridges"...If you check the dinosaur mailing list, you'll find the article explaining that find, plus there is something written about it even on the Dinosaur forum ;D

Keratin does not fossilize well similar to cartilage. Triceratops horns are made of bone but it is thought they may have been covered in Keratin. Listen and learn! ;D

I have heard you talk of it, and I have never seen a picture. And what was written on DTF was that Sbell said that it would have made nothing more than a small "hump" over the eyes.

And besides even if they *did* have those pyramids, the JP rex would still be inaccurate. Why? The arms are too big, and so are the teeth.

Sadly i don't have any pic of those lil' pyramidal structures... But there's something i don't understand,Cordy...You say that JP Rex has "gigantic pyramids" above his eyes, but if you look closely at that restoration, they seem REALLY big only when T.rex head is seen from below...Take the Papo T.rex, for example, totally inspired by the Jp Rex:it has NOT those big pyramids you say he has, just medium-sharpened ridges...If you want some REALLY pointed eyebrows, look at some modern vipers And again...If many modern reptiles (including some species of crocs, like the Black Caiman for example) have that structure above their eyes, why a T.rex would not have had something similar? ;D
